3 Idiots

3 Idiots- The sense of humor of Writer/ Director Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi is a must to compliment. They have done such a tremendous job. Direction by Hirani is perfect. All the actors have done such a commendable job. Boman Irani, known as ViruS in the movie, I believe, have overpowered all actors even the likes of Amir Khan. He is such a superb character. In fact, he is such a great discovery by Rajkumar Hirani.

This movie has given a super-blow to the traditional education system that favors WHAT IS THERE IN THE COURSE and
the perfection in what is already there by prior scientists and experts. Out- of- course innovations and inventions by students are not cared because it is out of course, simply. The way parents force their children to be doctor and engineer, simply because there is money in the profession and it is well respected in the society, has been well criticized and condemned in the movie.

Music, no doubt, blends well with the story and the context. Make- up person has a perfect sense of what he/ she should give. The direction of photography, the shots from helicopter and the tranquil and beautiful sceneries really strikes audiences. The set for one song (Amir and Karina) is a great design. In fact, Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra should have been much energized and overwhelmed for having Amir Khan- the perfectionist in his movie.

The story at peak points is really poor though the it is inspired from Chetan Bhagat’s much hyped about “Five Point Someone”. The way the film turns filmy at some should-not-have-turned points is really dull. The way the background of Rancho (Amir Khan) has been depicted, the scene at which ViruS is impressed by the greatness of Rancho (after the successful delivery of his daughter) and the break off of Pia’s (Kareena Kapoor) wedding was not impressive, but too filmy- complete Bollywood Mainstream Masalaa. And, Amir Khan does not really suit to be a part of such masalaas. So the blend of all makes 3 Idiots (for me) a 3.5/5 movie. Not best.
